$25.00/hr - $30.00/hr Contract to Hire Opportunity – Fixed Assets Staff Accountant Pay Rate:
$25-30/hour (contract) Onsite Requirement:
Full-time onsite initially (5 days/week); eligible to apply for hybrid (3 days onsite) after 6 months A mission-driven non-profit is hiring a
Fixed Assets Staff Accountant
to join its accounting team on a contract basis, with potential for conversion. This role plays a key part in supporting capital project tracking and maintaining accurate asset records in accordance with GAAP and internal controls. Core Duties: Record and track asset acquisitions, disposals, and internal transfers with accuracy and timeliness Perform monthly reconciliations of the fixed asset subledger Monitor ongoing construction projects and ensure timely capitalization upon completion Calculate and validate depreciation in accordance with internal policy and accounting standards Collaborate closely with facilities and project managers to align financial data with physical asset inventories Assist in the creation and refinement of policies and procedures for fixed asset tracking Generate reports and schedules to support audits and respond to asset-related questions Contribute to process improvement efforts related to asset accounting operations Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline Minimum 2 years of experience in general accounting with exposure to fixed asset functions Hands-on experience with ERP/fixed asset software (PeopleSoft strongly preferred) Knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with nonprofit or public sector accounting principles Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong data management skills Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving abilities Seniority level
