POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Executive Director of Childcare Quality Assurance and in accordance with the Christian mission and purpose of the Great Miami Valley YMCA Association, the Associate Executive Director for Childcare is responsible for the development, organization, and implementation of high-quality YMCA Child Care programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Manages, directs and coordinates all location(s) within the GMV YMCA Childcare program. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities. Expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs early learning center, Y BASE Site Administrators, and school age personnel and volunteers. Manages and controls budgets related to the position. Ensures program operates within budget and that program fees are collected. Assures compliance with state and local regulations and Step Up To Quality regulations as they relate to program areas. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed. Maintains all required paperwork and regulations of the CACFP. Develops and maintains relationships with state childcare licensing agency, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Provides staff leadership for annual fund-raising campaign and committees as assigned. Maintains proper records/department files. Organizes special events for parents. Takes a lead on communication with parents. Leads the marketing and advertising of YMCA childcare programs that positively impact the attendance and registration of these programs. Ensures program quality is being upheld and substitutes in ratio as needed which includes spending time in assigned programs on a regular basis. Implements the early learning center and school age curriculum, CATCH and HEPA standards in all programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in child development, human services, social services, or equivalent preferred. Three or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency Certification requirements include: CPR/AED Adult, First Aid, YMCA new employee orientation, and YMCA Child Abuse Prevention and Recognition training is required within the first 30 days of employment. Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fund-raising. Valid Ohio driver’s license and capable of driving to multiple site locations. Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations. Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others. Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations. Meet all Center Administrator criteria as outlined in the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services licensing requirements

The incumbent will be required to travel to many locations in the Association’s service area and will be exposed to all outside weather conditions
