Overview
We are seeking a
Contract Hospice Medical Director
to join our team in
Roswell, NM . The Hospice Medical Director will: Serve as a medical resource to the hospice team, patients, families, and attending physicians regarding pain and symptom management. Attend, participate, and collaborate in IDG meetings to ensure patients' medical needs are met. Provide oversight of the plan of care. Partner with the patients attending medical director/physician to develop and update the plan of care. Certify that patients meet the medical criteria for hospice admission and sign the appropriate documentation for approval. Collaborate with the Admission Team to provide guidance and support. Review clinical information prior to recertification and provide written recertification of terminal illness for subsequent benefit periods. Qualifications: Doctoral Degree in medicine (M.D.) or (D.O.) with a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of practice. Exemplary leadership skills and a passion for optimizing care for hospice and palliative patients. A positive reputation and image as an authority in hospice and palliative medicine within the community. Experience working with an interdisciplinary team. Ability to work within a distributed physician medical staff or similar structure. Current and valid National Provider Identifier (NPI). Additional Details: This is a contractor position; the Medical Director will not be an employee of Gentiva but will invoice for services rendered. Process: When a contractor Medical Director need arises, the VP of Sales will notify Stacey Sanchez. Stacey will enter the job notification into iCIMS. The job will be posted on our career site and external job boards (e.g., Indeed, LinkedIn). Interested Medical Directors will submit their contact information or resume to Stacey, who will forward it to the VP of Sales. The VP of Sales and local Hospice Care Consultants will contact the National Medical Director to gauge interest. If both parties agree, the process involves partnering with Procurement to sign an agreement. Location:
