A law firm seeks an Immigration Attorney - EOIR in San Jose, CA. This role offers a promising opportunity for a dedicated attorney to gain valuable experience and advance their career within an established firm. The attorney will manage their caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal assistants.
Duties
Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions. Represent individuals in removal proceedings at Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals. Manage a workload of cases. Visit and conduct intake with detained individuals at centers. Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions. Review and adjust immigration applications/packets as needed. Collaborate with law enforcement and community organizations on immigration law changes. Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients. Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony. Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases. Requirements
1-5 years of immigration law experience. Team player open to collaboration and strategizing. Preferably bilingual (English/Spanish). Strong interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage a caseload and advance legal cases. Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS applications. Experience with case management software is preferred. Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications
Admitted to practice law. Skills
