Job Description
Design, develop, implement, and debug software in cross-functional teams, including design, creation, delivery, and testing. Test and demonstrate software functionality and readiness in prototype benches. Ensure common solutions across all GM-owned software. Document requirements for design solutions and link them to test cases to demonstrate software functionality. Utilize automated test tools in build environments and benches to verify software functionality. Coordinate and collaborate with specialized teams such as Systems, Safety, Electrical Architecture, Cybersecurity, Software Defined Vehicle, Calibration, and Vehicle Performance. Support root cause analysis and debugging. Collaborate in meetings with suppliers to develop micro, peripheral, and ECU-specific solutions for new technology. Contribute to software quality improvements, including restructuring for better quality, maintainability, and reusability. Troubleshoot code to resolve design deficiencies and develop solutions. Hybrid Work Policy: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote. Must be able to report to the listed local office.
Additional Job Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Five (5) years of experience as a Software Architect, Senior Software Engineer, Lead Engineer, or related role.
- At least five (5) years of experience in embedded software development, C and embedded C, reading schematics for basic electrical circuits, infrastructure and basic software including AUTOSAR stack, Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) for microcontrollers, configuration management software like GIT, cybersecurity and safety coding practices, and software for embedded control systems including HWIO, BSW, complex drivers, and SUMs.
