Overview

We are seeking a compassionate BCBA to join our team. In this dual role, you will work closely with Santa Cruz County school districts and our ABA team (~5 clients) to provide support and interventions aimed at improving behavioral health and overall well-being. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of supervisory experience as a BCBA and at least 2 years overseeing programs preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee school districts and ABA (~5 clients) programs Provide ongoing training and support for therapists Conduct FBA to assess behaviors and develop individualized treatment plans. Implement evidence-based behavior interventions and therapies tailored to each child's needs. Collaborate with aides, therapists, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to client care. Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards. Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments. Provide training and support to aides and educators on behavior management techniques. Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in behavioral health.

Qualifications

Required: Master's degree with BCBA certification with 3+ years supervisory experience Experience overseeing programs (e.g., early intervention, ABA, social skills training, etc.) is preferred Experience working with children in a clinical and educational setting is preferred. Experience with applied behavior analysis techniques and behavior therapy methods. Familiarity with individualized education plans Strong understanding of special education principles and practices. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in patient care. Able to travel between sites and to offsite events throughout the county, as appropriate Local travel required (Santa Cruz County) Automobile, California driver's license and auto insurance as required by the State of California In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Essential Functions

Must have the ability to lift 40 pounds to a height of 1-3 feet Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time The person in this position needs to move about the client's home, playground, school-setting, or natural environments to engage in intervention with the client Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (e.g., tablet) Must be able to ascend/descend stairs/ladders to engage clients in gross motor activities Must be able to position self on the floor to engage with clients during floor-time activities The person in this position frequently communicates with parents and other educators who have inquiries about intervention therapy and techniques. Must be able to effectively exchange, convey, and communicate accurate information in these situations Must be able to detect, recognize, observe, and assess red-flag behaviors Must be able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities, including data collection, behavioral support, and communication with team members Must be able to compose coherent and logical written content that communicates complex ideas and information while ensuring accuracy and clarity, and meeting organizational standards (APA writing) Must be able to independently follow and implement established protocols, plan, procedures, and guidelines with minimal supervision Must be able to plan and organize work activities to ensure efficient use of time and resources Must be able to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, colleagues, and external constituents
