The Director of Labor Planning and Workforce Management will lead the strategic development and execution of labor planning, forecasting, and workforce optimization initiatives across the retail aftermarket auto parts network. This role is responsible for ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time to drive operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability. The ideal candidate will bring a data-driven mindset, deep knowledge of workforce management systems, and a strong understanding of retail operations. Job Description
The Director of Labor Planning and Workforce Management will lead the strategic development and execution of labor planning, forecasting, and workforce optimization initiatives across the retail aftermarket auto parts network. This role is responsible for ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time to drive operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability. The ideal candidate will bring a data-driven mindset, deep knowledge of workforce management systems, and a strong understanding of retail operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Workforce Planning: Develop and implement long-term labor strategies aligned with business goals, seasonal trends, and market dynamics. Labor Modeling Conduct time studies and implement any changes given business needs Labor Forecasting & Scheduling: Lead the design and execution of labor models to forecast staffing needs for over 4,000 locations Workforce Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve labor productivity and reduce costs through process improvements, automation, and scheduling efficiencies. Technology & Systems Leadership: Oversee the implementation and optimization of workforce management tools (e.g., Reflexis) to support labor planning and compliance. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, HR, Finance, and IT to align labor strategies with business objectives and ensure seamless execution. Analytics & Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to monitor labor performance, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure labor practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws, including wage and hour regulations.
Qualifications
Proven experience with workforce management systems (e.g., Reflexis, Kronos, ADP, etc.) Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on continuous improvement
Education And Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Finance or related field. Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in labor planning, workforce management, or operations leadership, preferably in a retail or distribution environment. Lean Six Sigma certification or similar process improvement training Experience managing remote or geographically dispersed teams
Supervisory Responsibilites
This position will be responsible for managing a total team of 6, with 2 direct reports.
