Ford Motor Company is excited to invite a talented and adaptable Software Developer to become a key member of our engineering team. This role encompasses a diverse range of full-stack development tasks, focusing on backend services with Node.js, NestJS, and Java Spring Boot, as well as dynamic front-end interfaces using React and TypeScript. Key responsibilities include: Developing, maintaining, and enhancing robust backend services and APIs that utilize Node.js, NestJS, and Java Spring Boot. Creating responsive and engaging front-end web applications with React and TypeScript, ensuring smooth integration with backend services. Designing and implementing scalable microservices and cloud-native applications in accordance with Ford's architectural standards. Deploying and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage. Building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines with Tekton, including automation of quality gates to uphold code quality, security checks, and compliance. Automating infrastructure management and provisioning with Terraform, following Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. Collaborating with cross-functional teams which include product, UX/UI, DevOps, and QA to deliver high-quality and secure software solutions. Conducting code reviews, participating in system design discussions, and contributing to the enhancement of best practices. Troubleshooting and resolving operational issues related to software deployment and cloud infrastructure. Creating and maintaining technical documentation to support development, deployment, and operational workflows. Ensuring compliance with security policies, industry standards, and Ford's compliance frameworks. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent work experience. 3-5 years of experience in software engineering with a strong foundation in both backend and frontend development. Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, including frameworks and libraries such as Node.js, NestJS, and React. Solid experience with Java Spring Boot for backend services. Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and container orchestration (GKE). Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Tekton or similar tools, with implemented quality gates. Practical knowledge of Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools. Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, event-driven design, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with SDLC, Agile, DevOps principles, and automated testing best practices. Excellent problem-solving skills along with effective communication and collaboration abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, and telemetry tools. Prior experience in automotive, manufacturing, or enterprise software development. Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements for cloud-based systems. Familiarity with other IaC tools and policy-as-code approaches for governance. This is a remote role; however, candidates residing within 50 miles of Dearborn, MI, or Palo Alto, CA, will be expected to commute on-site up to four times a week.
