Overview:

GovCIO is actively seeking a Software Licensing Specialist to effectively manage the lifecycle of all subscription-based software. This position involves remote work with a key location at HILL AFB, UT. Responsibilities: Oversee the acquisition, management, and compliance of software licenses, ensuring adherence to licensing agreements and legal requirements. Track software licenses, manage renewals, conduct audits, and optimize software usage to minimize costs. Serve as the primary liaison between the organization, vendors, and stakeholders for efficient and compliant software deployment. Build and maintain positive relationships with software vendors, addressing inquiries and concerns, and advocating for the organization during contract negotiations. Manage software license lifecycles, including discovery, entitlement tracking, renewal coordination, audit readiness, and compliance enforcement. Collaborate closely with procurement teams, vendors, and cybersecurity stakeholders to optimize licensing usage while maintaining full compliance with DoD mandates. Procure software licenses, negotiate contracts, and ensure the organization possesses the necessary licenses for operational support. Evaluate different licensing options in relation to departmental needs and the organization’s budget and goals. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience. Secret clearance required. 3-5 years of experience in software asset/license management in a federal or DoD environment. Familiarity with DoD ESI agreements and DODIN software rationalization policies. Experience utilizing license optimization tools (e.g., Flexera, SNOW, ServiceNow SAM). Extensive knowledge of software asset management and related tools. Proficient in managing software license inventories and documentation required for ownership proof. Ability to identify unused or underutilized software licenses. CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is preferred. Preferred Skills and Experience: Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM). IT Asset Management (ITAM) Foundation certification. Company Overview:

The salary range for this position is expected to be between USD $75,000.00 - USD $113,000.00 per year, though specific offers may vary based on individual qualifications and market factors.
