Senior Software Engineer, Digital Workplace Charlotte, NC, United States; Remote The Position We're seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Productivity Apps team within the Enterprise Technology organization. You'll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining custom productivity solutions and business-facing applications that enhance user experience and streamline operations. This role requires strong technical skills, a passion for solving business challenges through software, and a focus on delivering high-quality, user-centric solutions. What You'll Be Doing (Job Duties) Custom App Development : Design, develop, and maintain custom productivity applications and business-facing tools using modern software engineering practices. Backend Development : Build robust backend services and APIs using Python (Django, Flask, or FastAPI) to power productivity solutions and integrations. Integration Development : Develop seamless integrations between third-party productivity tools (e.g., Jira Service Management, M365 Apps & Services, Slack, Zoom) and custom applications. Data Management : Work with PostgreSQL and Snowflake to design and optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing for productivity applications. Application Lifecycle Management : Improve the development lifecycle for productivity apps, ensuring faster deployment, better alignment with business needs, and enhanced user experience. Technical Leadership : Mentor team members, share knowledge, and drive best practices for software development and productivity solutions. Problem-Solving : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve complex technical challenges, ensuring solutions meet business requirements. User-Centric Focus : Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver productivity solutions that align with organizational goals. What We Look for In You (Job Requirements) 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend development and custom application development. Strong proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI. Experience with third-party productivity tools such as Jira Service Management, M365 Apps & Services, Slack, or Zoom. Solid understanding of API development and integration patterns. Familiarity with frontend technologies (e.g., React, Vue.js) is a plus. Knowledge of application lifecycle management and software development best practices. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes) Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles Demonstrated engineering capability and aptitude in how you approach your work Willingness to learn new things, take on a challenge and not be afraid of making mistakes Have effective communication skills that suite a Hybrid environment (active listening, asking questions, open to collaboration, managing up, etc.) Nice to Haves Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in software engineering or related roles. Experience with .NET development (C#, .NET Core). Familiarity with Kafka for event streaming and real-time data processing. Knowledge of security best practicesfor application development. Experience mentoring or coaching team members or functioning as a technical lead.
