Join a dynamic team of Operations Technology Engineers that designs and constructs the critical wired and wireless networks powering Amazon's fulfillment centers and transportation sites globally. These networks support hundreds of thousands of associates and are integral to the delivery of shipments to Amazon's retail customers.
We are seeking Network Development Engineers who will provide innovative technical leadership in designing our next-generation networks. As we move into the future, our networks will accommodate an ecosystem of robotics, IoT, sensors, drones, and mobile devices. You should be adept at making data-driven decisions and improving designs, embracing failures as learning opportunities to ultimately deliver scalable and robust systems.
Information security and network reliability are paramount in your decision-making process, and you will be recognized as a key influencer within the team. You will operate the largest fulfillment network in the world while mentoring network support teams to enhance their skills and reinforce best practices.
Your responsibilities will also include diagnosing and resolving root causes of impactful network events, ensuring the reliability essential for Amazon Operations. The OpsTech NetEng team serves multiple business units globally—ranging from small delivery stations in emerging markets to advanced automated fulfillment centers in North America, Japan, and Europe. This provides a unique opportunity to engage in both innovative short-term projects and strategic long-term initiatives.

Develop code for high-demand, multifaceted networking projects.

Conduct thorough research and benchmarking of Amazon technologies against industry competitors.

The Network Provisioning and Automation (NPA) team consists of highly skilled engineers responsible for building new Amazon fulfillment centers and transportation sites worldwide, which support a vast number of associates and contribute critically to shipment deliveries. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology 3+ years of hands-on experience in a network-focused technical role involving IP routing protocols and technologies in large-scale data centers, LAN, and/or WAN environments. 3+ years working on engineering, deployment, or operational mechanisms related to IP networks. 3+ years in a technical on-call capacity, managing customer-impacting events. 1+ year of experience with automation through scripting and programming (Bash/shell, Perl/Python, Infrastructure as Code, Ansible). Preferred Qualifications: Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, server load balancing, and network security architecture. Experience with platforms from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc. Knowledge in packet forwarding architectures and networking technologies. Experience in virtualized enterprise networking environments. Proficiency in software development/programming and working in a Linux/Unix environment. Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills and a strong team player mentality. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment through effective prioritization and time management.
