Java Software Engineer

Job Overview: The primary focus of this role is to assist in upgrading GSAL's Agency Lending Applications to a new suite of Dynamic Compute servers. You will participate in the entire software development life cycle, from requirement definition through deployment and ongoing support. Collaboration is key, as you'll work closely with GSAL's IT team as well as the Agency Lending user community, including traders, operations, and client services for clients across different regions. Skills & Requirements Basic Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in Object-Oriented design and development. 2+ years of Java programming experience. Familiarity with the full project life cycle. Strong communication and presentation skills. Experience with Linux operating systems and Shell Scripting. Essential Object-Oriented design and implementation experience. Preferred Qualifications: Core Java experience is essential. Experience with RDBMS, particularly Sybase or UDB, is a plus. Experience working with real-time systems and messaging infrastructures with multi-thread capability is highly desirable. Familiarity with build and deployment tools. Knowledge of Test-Driven Development methodologies, especially using tools like Fitness, is an advantage. Strong knowledge of Listed Stock Loan or Agency Lending is a significant plus. Programming Languages: At least 2 years of experience in Object-Oriented design and development. At least 2 years of Java experience. 2+ years of experience with RDBMS, ideally Sybase or UDB.
