Overview GovCIO is looking for a highly skilled Senior Linux and Windows System Administrator to support our operational needs for Veterans Affairs. This role demands extensive experience in AWS, Windows, and Linux administration, complemented by strong database management skills to maintain robust infrastructure while ensuring system security and optimal performance. Responsibilities As a Senior System Administrator, your role will involve: Planning the transition of development and/or production environments to cutting-edge technologies. Ensuring data integrity and facilitating electronic health record modernization. Establishing and maintaining the smooth operation of computer systems, including operating systems, software, and hardware, in both networked and standalone configurations. Consulting with support teams, help desks, customers, and other technical staff to resolve complex technical issues. Coordinating and performing operational and maintenance activities for networks and servers. Identifying recurring problems and recommending solutions to minimize their impact and frequency. Ensuring system integrity and performing upgrades to systems and/or servers as required. Advising on changes to improve systems and network configurations and determining hardware or software requirements related to such changes. Qualifications Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with 12+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience). A minimum of 5 years of experience in Windows and Linux system administration is essential. You should have hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, a strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, excellent problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience with RHEL 6, 7, and 8, RAID, Volume Shadow Copy Service, and AWS certification (e.g., Azure, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified). Familiarity with Jenkins, Gitlab, SonarQube, Jira, Confluence, Ldap, Open Ldap, Tomcat 7, OpenShift, and VMware 6.5. Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes will be advantageous. Clearance Required: Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a suitability/Public Trust clearance. Posted Salary Range The expected salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year. Base pay may vary based on individual factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
