Role Overview
We are looking for a talented Mainframe Application Developer to join our Enterprise Application Support team. You will provide essential support for a large client in the insurance domain, focusing on test environment management. If you have a solid background in mainframe development and support with significant experience in batch processing, JCL, and DB2, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, execute, and monitor test batch activities to support application teams.
Extract and load data for testing purposes.
Participate in managing release tasks effectively.
Monitor batch processes for optimal performance.
Provide first-level testing support and coordinate with development teams to resolve defects.
Working hours will include 8-hour shifts between 9 AM to 9 PM IST. Participation in a 24 X 6 on-call support rotation is required.

Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
3+ years of programming experience on mainframe systems.
Proficiency in COBOL in an IBM z/OS environment.
Extensive knowledge of JCL and mainframe technologies such as CICS, VSAM, and DB2.
Experience in Test Support involving batch and online environments, including break-fix support.
Familiarity with mainframe tools like TSO, ISPF, SDSF, and IZWS Scheduler.
Skills and Competencies:
Proficient in JCL, COBOL, DB2/SQL, EASYTRIEVE, CICS, MQ, IZWS, RDX, and JOBTRAC. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with analytical and problem-solving capabilities. You demonstrate accountability, attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and effective time management.
