Forecasting & Data Analyst

to take full ownership of our inventory forecasting models and demand analytics. This is not an operations support role - its a builder role. Youll use your data skills to create, refine, and automate forecasting logic that drives how we buy, reprint, and manage stock for thousands of titles.

This position canfunction 100% remotely from the following states: Illinois, Arizona, Connecticut, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin. The position also allows for a hybrid work schedule at our Naperville or New York, NY office if desired, This is an exempt, salaried position with an annual salary between $90,000 - $110,000. We determine starting pay based on a thorough evaluation of job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidates qualifications. WHAT YOULL BE DOING

Build and evolve forecasting models to predict demand for new and backlist titles, integrating historical sales, seasonality, sales team insights, and point-of-sale trends Design and automate inventory planning tools in SAP, Excel, SQL, and Power BIimproving forecast accuracy, speed, and visibility Prototype and iterate forecasting logic (e.g., moving average, regression, smoothing, basic ML models) to recommend print quantities and reprint timing Collaborate with sales, marketing, and manufacturing to adjust forecasts based on pre-orders, campaigns, and market shifts Develop scalable reporting solutions to track forecast accuracy, inventory turns, and stock risks Explore use of AI/LLMs for workflow improvements and data integration across systems Identify gaps and manual pain points in current forecasting and reporting processesand build tools to close them Partner with operations and IT teams to help integrate inventory modeling with our ERP system (SAP Business One ? SAP S4 Hana) YOULL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU HAVE

35+ years of experience building forecasting models, preferably in inventory, demand planning, or financial modeling Strong skills in data modeling and statistical thinking (e.g., regression, smoothing, trend analysis, time series concepts) Proficiency in Excel (including complex formulas and automation), SQL, and at least one BI tool like Power BI Experience creating or maintaining forecasting logic from scratchnot just using pre-built models Exposure to or interest in Python or R for data analysis, automation, or lightweight ML models Familiarity with SAP Business One or S4 Hana, or experience integrating reporting with ERP systems High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data integrity A love of books, curiosity about how publishing works, and a passion for solving problems through better data Why Sourcebooks?
