Join the innovative Bespoke Solutions group within AWS Region Services, where we are searching for a dynamic Interdisciplinary Systems Engineer. If you have a passion for technical leadership and a knack for guiding hardware, software, and FPGA developers through the entire systems engineering lifecycle, we want you! This role involves defining systems, breaking down requirements, assessing technical risks, and conducting comprehensive end-to-end testing for scalable, high-assurance embedded systems within the AWS technology ecosystem. As a crucial member of the Bespoke Solutions Team, you will collaborate with a talented full-stack development team focused on crafting top-notch network security products that empower Amazon's Dedicated Cloud to operate efficiently at scale. Note that this position requires holding an active TS/SCI security clearance, which must be maintained throughout your employment with us. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate, develop, and deliver solutions for complex interdisciplinary system design problems with often undefined technical strategies. Derive requirements that emphasize system efficiency, operational excellence, and user experience. Lead engineers in design validation and verification processes to meet certification requirements. Create technical artifacts that ensure comprehensive designs and enhance system traceability. Conduct design meetings for development planning and peer design reviews. Test and verify new technologies aimed at enhancing customer experiences. Mentor fellow engineers on systems goals and constraints concerning physical interfaces, compliance, data, and risk management. A Day in the Life: Act as a technical leader for a cross-functional team of hardware and software developers, focusing on system-level integration and verification. Set and uphold testing standards, considering the impacts of team decisions on the overall system architecture during meetings and reviews. Facilitate architectural discussions and strategic planning sessions. Utilize and enhance CI/CD pipelines to automate unit tests and hardware-in-the-loop tests. Deploy embedded software onto hardware and troubleshoot RTL, hardware, or software issues. Document software subsystems and components in Rust and coordinate daily with team members on design decisions and code reviews. Guide architecture development and trade studies for encryption devices, key management systems, FPGAs, and ASICs. Generate design review artifacts (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) for government certification processes. Collaborate with various teams to establish requirements, develop verification methods, and ensure adherence to system specifications. Employ tools like Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or Systems Modeling Language (SysML) for system documentation, including test procedures and verification matrices. Maintain high standards and prioritize development activities while disseminating knowledge of systems engineering best practices.
