General Summary
Fills prescriptions, routine orders for medications and prepackaged pharmaceuticals and performs other related duties.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions: Assists pharmacists as directed including filling orders and preparing labels. Assists patient, taking prescription, necessary information, etc. Operates cash register. Delivers medications as needed. Submits and receives orders from suppliers. Enters and/or retrieves data from established computer files using knowledge of various computer software applications. Assists with I.V. preparation and delivery. Trains other employees in day to day procedures. Participates in the performance evaluation process for Technician I and Driver. Position shares responsibility with other team members for daily delivery of patient medications to a Script Center in Mt. Gretna, PA. (Applies only to staff working at Good Samaritan Pharmacy location only; Department 43514). Common Expectations:
Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required. Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation. Logs all drugs delivered to pharmacy. Qualifications
