The position serves as a leader and expert in the successful operation of all areas of Production and Sales across various departments: Non-Perishable: grocery, dairy, frozen foods, healthy living, bulk foods, gift baskets Perishable: produce, meat, seafood, floral Food Service: kitchen, cafe, prepared foods, cooking school, bakery, deli, cheese This role is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, partner engagement, and achievement of company objectives, reporting directly to the General Manager. Responsibilities include:
Making employment-related and business decisions using independent judgment, including hiring, promoting, disciplining, and resolving partner matters Managing multiple departments, including merchandising, product mix, costs, and supervising partners through department managers Providing overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company regulations on product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation Supervising daily management of departments and merchandising Maintaining vendor relations and communicating expectations Conducting interviews, performance appraisals, and providing partner feedback Training and developing partners Providing excellent customer service Requirements:
Strong supervisory and management skills across all departments Long-term strategic and financial planning abilities Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (1-2 years related experience or training) Proficiency with automated reporting systems (inventory, food cost, scheduling, time & attendance, labor) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to innovate and champion new ideas Valuing diversity Ability to handle stressful situations Analytical, organizational, and planning skills Effective delegation skills Proven team development ability
