What You'll Do: As a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer, you will play a crucial role in planning, installing, testing, administering, and maintaining a variety of mainframe network software. This includes, but is not limited to, VTAM, TCPIP, FTP, and Connect:Direct. Your responsibilities will also encompass diagnosing, resolving, and documenting system issues while providing expert support for client mainframe network environments. Key Responsibilities: Manage IT mainframe network systems programming and provide ongoing product support, ensuring smooth interface configurations with other subsystems. Plan and implement updates, configurations, and maintenance to mainframe network-related software. Diagnose and document mainframe network-related problems efficiently. Adhere strictly to ITIL, Change, and Problem Management processes. Communicate effectively with software suppliers, clients, and peers. Ensure system availability and performance in alignment with service agreements. Monitor and report on system reliability and performance. Enhance operational efficiency through automation and templating. Seek cost reductions and improvements in technology support methodologies. Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends. Provide training and guidance to Associates and Clients on new upgrades and products. Support Client applications with problem-solving and determination. Areas of Expertise: Operating systems including z/OS, Z/VM, and Z/Linux. Network systems such as CICS, MQ, TCP/IP, and NetView. Database systems including DB2, IMS, and IDMS. Security tools like ACF2, CA/Spool, and RACF. Qualifications: A minimum of 12 years of mainframe networking experience, with a broader mainframe systems background being advantageous. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Proven ability to prioritize and balance tasks among clients, team members, and personal responsibilities. Experience in leading and managing systems programming projects. Additional Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively engage with internal teams and external clients. Self-motivated individual capable of independent work. Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines and high-pressure conditions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis. Compensation:
The estimated salary range for this role is $95,000 to $148,000 per year, based on a full-time schedule. Final salary may vary based on various factors, including skills, experience, and business needs.
