This opportunity is for transitioning service members looking to build a civilian career in construction, infrastructure, or engineering support. Benesch, a leading civil engineering and infrastructure firm, has partnered with BufferSprings to offer a hands-on DoD SkillBridge for military-connected talent preparing to separate from active duty.

As a Construction Technical Representative , you will work directly on road, bridge, rail, and utility projects that support communities and keep the country moving. You will support project engineers, inspectors, and contractors by documenting work progress, reporting safety and quality issues, conducting field measurements, and learning the fundamentals of infrastructure project execution.

This is not classroom-based training. You will be in the field, learning through real work. Whether you have experience in construction or are just curious about how things get built, this is a chance to step into a career where your attention to detail and mission mindset will make a difference.

RequirementsWe are looking for service members who are ready to contribute, learn, and grow.

Active-duty military status and eligible for SkillBridge participation

Within 180 days of separation

High school diploma or equivalent

Ability to work on-site and outdoors in variable conditions

Basic computer skills

Strong situational awareness, communication, and follow-through

Valid driver’s license

Qualifications:

Experience in construction, trades, logistics, or field operations

Familiarity with blueprint reading or technical documentation

Exposure to safety reporting, inspections, or quality control

Desire to grow into construction management, engineering, or public works

No college degree is required. We value real-world skills and the ability to show up, solve problems, and work as part of a team.
