Join our team as a Security Engineer focused on Cloud Security Response at Amazon Web Services! In this dynamic role, you will be part of the AWS Cloud Response Team, where we prioritize the security and availability of our cloud services. Your primary responsibility will be to tackle security challenges at scale while contributing to automation and continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess incoming security issues, determining their risk levels and prioritizing remediation efforts with appropriate service teams.
Effectively communicate security issue statuses to diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Promote a culture of security throughout the company by fostering strong relationships with team members and other departments.
Maintain productivity amid frequent context switching and interruptions.
Escalate unresolved issues to senior leadership to prioritize customer protection.
Enhance our tooling for improved efficiency, benefiting all engineers globally.
Participate in recruiting and administrative tasks.
Fulfill regular on-call responsibilities.

Your role will involve coordinating and facilitating security response activities for all AWS products and services, driving security-related issues to resolution in collaboration with various teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years programming experience in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++, or similar object-oriented language.
4+ years in areas such as threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, software development, cryptography, system administration, and network security.
Experience with AWS products and services.
Familiarity with networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years in relevant security experience.
Experience implementing security solutions at the business division level.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Certifications such as CCSP, CEH, CFR, Cloud+, CySA+, GCED, or GICSP are a plus.
