We are seeking a pioneering Data Engineer for the Kuiper Global Planning team who will play a critical role in building enterprise-grade data infrastructure and assets that aid in our Demand Science & Forecasting models and capacity planning systems. This is an exciting opportunity that requires high operational excellence and a focus on delivering impactful results.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Kuiper data products and ETL pipelines to efficiently ingest and transform geospatial datasets from various internal and external APIs using AWS technologies like Glue, S3, Redshift, MWAA, EMR, Data Zone, and Lambda.
Collaborate with Data Scientists, Applied Scientists, Software Engineers, and Simulation Engineers to create data assets for statistical modeling and system integration.
Enhance existing solutions and design next-generation Kuiper's Data Architecture to improve scalability, quality, and performance.
Implement data governance best practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with security and privacy regulations.
Automate processes to generate structured datasets for forecasting and system inputs, with a strong emphasis on efficiency and scalability.
Create and maintain a data dictionary, catalog, and governance plan to manage and audit registered data.
Provide technical guidance and support to data consumers, helping them utilize Global Planning data assets effectively.

The Kuiper Global Planning team develops systems to forecast, manage, and optimize demand, bandwidth capacity, and physical inventory globally. Basic Qualifications: 5+ years of data engineering experience. Proficiency in data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipelines development. Strong SQL skills. Experience in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS. Mentorship experience with team members on best practices. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with big data technologies including Hadoop, Hive, and Spark. Experience managing large data warehouses. Hands-on experience with transforming geospatial data.
