Overview:
GovCIO is looking for a highly skilled and driven Lead Configuration Management Engineer to be an integral part of our team. We strive to transform government IT and enhance the way agencies serve the public. This role is essential in ensuring the integrity and consistency of software and hardware systems throughout their lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Establish and uphold the integrity of software and hardware configurations. Collaborate with the Configuration Management Engineer VI to design and improve configuration management processes and tools. Track, document, and validate all system changes, enforcing configuration management standards. Automate configuration processes and manage configuration baselines while adhering to industry frameworks such as the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF). Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Development, Operations, and Quality Assurance, to integrate configuration management practices into the development and deployment pipeline. Troubleshoot configuration issues, conduct audits, and share insights on best practices. Adapt to evolving technology landscapes and effectively prioritize tasks. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members. Qualifications: High School diploma with at least 10 years of relevant experience. BA/BS degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Deep understanding of configuration management principles and expertise in software development and IT infrastructure. Experience implementing and managing configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or SaltStack. Strong knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN), build automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Maven), and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Relevant certifications in configuration management and ITIL Foundation certification are preferred. Clearance Required: Secret. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a relevant field. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash. Experience in a regulated configuration management environment. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum. Experience with a DoD Combatant Command is a plus. Company Overview:
