Are you a passionate data scientist with a focus on AI, eager to contribute to innovative solutions? Join our Amazon Nova Solutions team as a Senior Applied AI Data Scientist, where you will work alongside Foundation Model teams and collaborate with both internal and external Generative AI customers to customize and develop cutting-edge applications.
In this pivotal role, you will act as the voice of the builder, partnering with various Amazon businesses to create GenAI solutions that not only deliver immediate value but also shape the future of customer experiences. You will guide customers in understanding best practices, while exploring new problem spaces, providing invaluable insights to product, science, and engineering teams.
Your expertise in large language models—including architectures and fine-tuning techniques—is essential. You will be crucial in designing and deploying foundation models and engaging in dataset design, metric development, and failure analysis. Hands-on experience with AI frameworks such as Strands, LangGraph, and CrewAI, along with model customization tools like PyTorch, TensorBoard, and SageMaker, will be greatly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement, deploy, and prototype state-of-the-art GenAI solutions in close collaboration with customers.
Share best practices and promote AWS GenAI services through blogs, whitepapers, and public events.
Design, build, and migrate applications utilizing Amazon Nova FMs and other GenAI tools.
Understand and address customer business challenges by implementing durable GenAI systems.
Educate customers on the value of the Amazon Nova FM ecosystem and showcase their potential.
Drive evaluation strategies, design metrics, and collect data for real-world applications.
Lead architectural discussions to create effective solutions with Amazon Nova FMs.
Contribute to AWS publications, workshops, demos, and proof-of-concept projects.
Establish strong relationships with customer engineering, product, and science leaders.
About The Team:
The Amazon Nova Applied AI Solutions Team bridges the gap between Foundation Model science, engineering, and product teams with internal Amazon teams. We assist customers in building Generative AI applications while leveraging these engagements to continually enhance Foundation Models. Qualifications: Basic: Master's degree in a quantitative field (statistics, math, data science, engineering, CS). 5+ years of experience in architecture, deployment, and operations of Generative AI/ML platforms. 3+ years working with large language models, including evaluation and architecture. Experience in designing and implementing AI/Deep Learning solutions. Preferred: Experience with model optimization techniques (compression, distillation, pruning, quantization, Transformers, etc.). Familiarity with frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, prompt engineering. Experience with AWS services (SageMaker, Step Functions, S3, etc.) and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
