About the Role As a Senior Data Center Design Project Manager, you will lead the design process from campus planning to the issuance of construction drawings, ensuring timely and effective execution. Your role involves collaborating with internal design teams and external service providers to craft a cohesive execution plan. You will also oversee the construction administration services to support ongoing construction activities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in building design and construction and demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities. Key Responsibilities Organize and facilitate planning and kickoff workshops with key internal and external stakeholders. Conduct design reviews in collaboration with external partners. Draft scopes of work for contracts and secure approvals from internal stakeholders. Issue, coordinate, and track contracts efficiently. Define, manage, and monitor deliverables from various parties involved. Maintain oversight of cost, schedule, progress, and scope; produce comprehensive dashboard reports. Manage changes to project scope and design contracts proactively. Support the owner's design change management processes. Perform quality checks on design issues within the BIM environment. Facilitate timely technical decisions to meet project needs. Cooperate closely with procurement and construction teams on design activities. Ensure clear and continuous communication with all internal stakeholders and external partners. Verify the timely and accurate distribution of engineering information. Assist in project closeout to align final documentation with design partners and contractors. Qualifications Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with 5-8 years of relevant experience; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Credentials such as LEED AP, PMP, or CCM are highly desirable. Prior experience in data center design or construction is preferred, with equivalent experience in sectors like healthcare (hospitals), large commercial (high rises), laboratory spaces, manufacturing facilities, or power plants. A minimum of 1 year of design project management experience is necessary. Professional licensure (PE, NCARB, RA, or equivalent) is preferred. Comprehensive understanding of leases, contracts, and construction practices; ability to read architectural drawings effectively. Strong judgment skills based on detailed data analysis, coupled with a readiness to innovate existing solutions. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Excellent interpersonal skills with a curious approach. Strong mathematical skills for handling complex calculations. Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. This position requires travel of 15%-25% to Indianapolis, IN. Compensation and Benefits The minimum salary for this position is $170,000 annually, and the maximum salary is $195,000 annually, dependent on skills and experience. Eligible candidates can also receive a discretionary bonus. Benefits offered include 401(K), dental, health, life, and vision insurance.
