Job Summary We are looking for an exceptional and innovative Senior Big Data Engineer to become a vital part of our healthcare data team. This position involves designing, developing, and managing large-scale data systems specifically crafted for healthcare analytics. You will architect and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable data pipelines that aid in critical organizational decision-making. The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive technical expertise in modern Big Data tools, both real-time and batch data integration, and will possess a thorough understanding of healthcare data governance and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable, high-performance Big Data solutions that effectively handle structured and unstructured data from various sources. Build and manage both batch and real-time data ingestion/extraction pipelines using technologies such as Kafka, Spark Streaming, and Talend. Develop efficient ETL frameworks leveraging Python or Scala for large-scale data transformation. Create and enhance data models tailored for analytical and operational needs, focusing on healthcare claims and utilization data. Collaborate effectively with data scientists, analysts, and business partners to transform business requirements into solid data products. Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot Hadoop-based infrastructure utilizing tools like Cloudera Manager, Ambari, and Zookeeper. Enforce rigorous data quality, security, and compliance standards using tools such as Kerberos, Ranger, and Sentry. Implement web services and APIs (REST/SOAP) to facilitate seamless integration with applications and visualization platforms. Engage in data governance initiatives, including metadata management, lineage tracking, and quality assurance. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of substantial experience in Big Data engineering, data integration, and pipeline development. Proficient in Python, Java, or Scala for system scripting and data transformation. Expertise in Big Data technologies including Spark, Hive, Impala, Presto, Phoenix, Kylin, and Hadoop (HDFS, YARN). Experience in constructing real-time stream-processing systems using Kafka, Storm, or Spark Streaming. Strong knowledge of NoSQL databases like HBase and MemSQL, along with traditional RDBMS such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server. Skilled in designing and developing ETL solutions with tools like Talend or Informatica. Demonstrated experience in deploying and monitoring big data infrastructure using Ambari, Cloudera Manager, and Zookeeper. Solid understanding of data warehousing, validation, quality checks, and governance. Preferred Qualifications: Over 5 years of progressive experience in Big Data engineering or analytics. Experience in the healthcare industry, particularly with clinical, claims, or care management data. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
