Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. We are looking for an accomplished Principal Technical Program Manager to lead our hardware configuration management efforts for both current and next-generation satellite programs. This crucial role focuses on recording, communicating, and managing complex hardware changes throughout the spacecraft's lifecycle. As a key member of our team, you will: Own the end-to-end configuration management strategy for satellite mechanical systems. Collaborate with manufacturing, integration, and operations teams to assess the impact of hardware changes and determine optimal implementation timings to mitigate risk. Drive strategic decisions on change releases, ensuring traceability and seamless coordination across teams. In this role, you will also: Partner with Engineering Information Systems to develop tools that automate and streamline configuration workflows. Define necessary data structures and interfaces to support robust real-time configuration control. Lead the development and implementation of reliable change management workflows. To succeed in this position, you'll create training materials and onboarding resources for engineers, coaching teams on best practices for configuration control. You will actively identify issues in existing workflows and pursue continuous improvements through automation and process enhancements. A typical day might include: Meeting with mechanical engineers to assess the implications of upcoming hardware changes. Collaborating with downstream teams to evaluate the timing and readiness for changes. Working with Engineering Information Systems to define new tools that improve configuration visibility. Reviewing documentation for completeness relating to recent change requests. Guiding technical teams towards effective configuration management practices. Conducting workshops to refine workflows that may cause friction. Teaming with TPMs and program leads to ensure configuration integrity as systems evolve. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline. - 10+ years of experience in technical program management, including 5+ years in the aerospace or spacecraft sector. - Extensive experience managing configuration for complex mechanical or electromechanical systems. - Strong understanding of PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter) and change management principles. - Proven capability to spearhead technical programs and align stakeholders across engineering and operations. - Effective communicator, skilled in driving clarity and documentation. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Master’s degree in Engineering or related field. - Experience customizing PLM tools to fit specific engineering workflows. - Familiarity with CAD and PDM systems used in spacecraft design. - Knowledge of Agile methodologies applied to hardware development. - Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). The compensation for this position ranges from $159,300/year in the lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in the highest geographic market. Pay is determined based on market location, knowledge, skills, and experience, and may also include equity, sign-on payments, and a variety of benefits.
