Critical Infrastructure Water Engineer

As a Critical Infrastructure Water Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting AWS Data Centers throughout their life cycle, from design inception to site improvement and maintenance. Your expertise will influence every aspect of our water-based cooling systems infrastructure. You will work closely with both internal and external teams to assess and enhance existing water infrastructure systems while creating innovative solutions. Your responsibilities will include: Evaluating current system performance and identifying retrofit opportunities. Implementing improvements through prescriptive and performance-based approaches, including best practices. Collaborating with stakeholders such as design, construction, commissioning, operations teams, and water treatment specialists. Providing technical advice and troubleshooting support to operations teams, including conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and creating Corrective Action documentation. Owning the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and providing innovative design solutions. Initiating and leading engineering audits and on-site visits within Amazon's data centers. Act as the resident engineer during new construction projects and support construction and commissioning efforts. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions. Produce reports detailing risks with recommended mitigations. Interact daily with diverse teams responsible for all aspects of our data centers, ensuring capacity availability and safety. If you are passionate about innovative projects at hyper-scale and possess the following qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Planning or equivalent. 5+ years of experience in water engineering or related infrastructure projects.
