Job Description
The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Network Control Technician is responsible for administration, maintenance, and cybersecurity defense of all Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client, server, and network infrastructure used to support enterprise-wide modeling and simulation applications and services for the NITE.
The candidate will work in close coordination with other team members and departments to update, monitor and maintain servers, workstations, and network devices used throughout the enterprise. Additional duties include performing Microsoft Windows client/server administration, maintenance, patching, configuring systems in compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and other duties as assigned. Individual must be able to work independently and work within a team.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Administer and support Windows desktop environments (including WIN10 SHB) Manage patching and updates for Microsoft servers and workstations Troubleshoot network issues, particularly in Cisco environments Implement and maintain DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) Utilize tools like VMware, SolarWinds, and enterprise patching systems Ensure system performance and security through proactive monitoring and maintenance Collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues and enhance system reliability
Minimum Qualifications
2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience. Associates degree in Computer Information Systems or related field (or equivalent experience) 47 years of relevant IT experience in system/network administration Security+ certification (or equivalent) Strong experience with Cisco equipment and configuration Industry certifications such as Linux+, Microsoft, or Cisco (preferred) Eligibility for a U.S. Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Requirements
Deep knowledge of Windows 10 SHB configurations Proven troubleshooting skills in complex, secure IT environments Familiarity with VMware and enterprise monitoring tools like SolarWinds Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication High degree of customer focus with the ability to juggle priorities effectively
