This is an exciting opportunity to assist U.S. Government agencies in utilizing the latest cloud technologies to address technical issues. At AWS, we have formed specialized teams dedicated to working with the U.S. Intelligence Community to develop some of the most sophisticated distributed systems globally, and we’re seeking adaptable individuals to contribute to our mission. The AWS Commerce Platform underpins the infrastructure and services that allow AWS teams to deliver their products to customers, while also providing tools to help customers manage their expenses effectively. This platform facilitates the calculation of bills based on usage, invoicing customers, and processing payments. The ideal candidate for this position will currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and may be required to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency supported. Key Responsibilities: Focus on operational excellence and troubleshoot complex system operations. Demonstrate a solid understanding of Linux, networking, and cloud services. Break down projects into manageable tasks, defining milestones and feedback mechanisms. Identify instances of low availability or defects and investigate systemic patterns. Resolve, mitigate, or escalate operational concerns in a timely manner. A Day in the Life: On a typical day, our engineers may: Dive deep into customer issues to determine root causes. Analyze metrics to identify trends. Innovate new methods to automate operational processes. As part of our team, you will engage with a dedicated group of engineers focused on providing troubleshooting and support for numerous production services and pipelines. Our team in Seattle specifically supports a subset of services critical to the Commerce Platform. Why Choose AWS? Enjoy access to mentorship and resources to help shape your career path. Basic Qualifications: Associate's degree or equivalent certifications (Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP). At least 3 years of systems administration experience (Linux/Windows). Experience with scripting languages. Current, active U.S. Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of experience with cloud computing technologies. Experience in production computing environment support procedures and methodologies. Experience in automating routine tasks and troubleshooting. Proficiency in performance and log analysis.
