Infrastructure Software Engineer for Quantum Computing

The AWS Center for Quantum Computing is on the cutting edge of quantum technology, and we want you to be part of our mission to develop a fault-tolerant quantum computer. We are seeking a talented Infrastructure Software Engineer to join our dynamic software team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with experimental and theoretical physics teams to facilitate their efforts in characterizing, calibrating, and operating innovative quantum devices. The ideal candidate will possess the skills to transform high-level scientific requirements into robust software infrastructure solutions—ranging from CDK scripts to web servers and database schemas. You will focus on creating systems that are not only performant and scalable but also secure. Basic Qualifications: 2+ years of professional software development experience 2+ years of experience in designing or architecting systems (including design patterns, reliability, and scalability) Proficiency in at least one programming language 2+ years of Python development experience Experience in full-stack web development (client-server architectures, databases) Familiarity with SQL databases and optimization Experience using infrastructure-as-code to deploy cloud services Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle (planning, design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance) Preferred Qualifications: Experience collaborating with scientists in a research environment Data modeling expertise for scientific applications Familiarity with AWS tools and services (e.g., CDK) Proficiency in JavaScript and React Experience with REST and GraphQL Familiarity with open-source software for data analysis and machine learning Background in experimental physics or quantum computing Join us at the Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. and be part of a diverse and inclusive workplace.
