The Customer Experience and Business Trends team is looking for a dedicated and talented Data Engineer to contribute to the development of innovative, multimodal systems at Amazon. In this dynamic role, you will work at the crossroads of extensive data infrastructure and artificial intelligence applications. Collaborating closely with Applied Scientists, Software Development Engineers, and product teams, you will develop robust pipelines and scalable data systems that enable AI-enhanced experiences. Your role will be crucial in maintaining data quality, system reliability, and performance as we introduce cutting-edge agent capabilities into production.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other engineers to design and construct scalable data pipelines, prototype innovative data solutions, and assess system performance and reliability.
Work in close partnership with applied scientists to ingest, process, and transform large-scale datasets to support model training, evaluation, and deployment.
Participate in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver robust and high-quality data infrastructure and services.

The Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) team encompasses a wide range of functions aimed at profoundly understanding and enhancing customer experiences around the world. Our team of builders is committed to developing products, services, and innovative ways to leverage data to shape product and service offerings for virtually every Amazon business and customer segment (including consumers, developers, sellers/brands, employees, investors, streamers, and gamers). Our approach is grounded in identifying customer needs and solving complex problems based on those insights. We utilize both technical and non-technical methodologies, while remaining attuned to industry and business trends. Our global team is made up of a diverse array of professionals, including Product Managers, Software Developers, Computer Vision experts, Solutions Architects, Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers, Business Analysts, Risk Managers, and many more.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of data engineering experience.
- Proven experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
- Proficiency in SQL.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.
- Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases).
Compensation:
This position offers a competitive salary reflecting local labor costs with a base pay ranging from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Salary will vary based on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is committed to total compensation, which may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package.
