We are excited to invite a talented Operations Research Data Scientist to our Decision Science Solutions (DS2) team. Our main goal is to enhance the performance of our pharmaceutical supply chain so our pharmacy customers can focus on their patients. The DS2 team is composed of Supply Chain Data Scientists, Operations Research Analysts, Data Analysts, and Data Engineers working together to solve complex problems and achieve optimal results.
In this role, you will apply your understanding of business processes, systems, and analytical tools to uncover and resolve challenges. You will forecast demand, develop optimization models, and share actionable insights that drive improvement across various areas:
Designing distribution center networks and ensuring effective capacity planning.
Optimizing facility layout and maximizing warehouse capacity and utilization.
Improving warehouse processes for better efficiency.
Managing labor and implementing automation strategies.
Formulating inventory management strategies for stocking and replenishment.
Planning transportation logistics for all delivery phases.
Coordinating sales and operations planning to manage resources in response to demand fluctuations.
Your specific responsibilities will include:
Engaging with clients to fully define their business challenges.
Conducting exploratory analysis to pinpoint root causes and validate/disprove initial hypotheses.
Creating predictive models to forecast demand and identify capacity needs.
Developing customer and product segmentation models to tailor our supply chain to diverse service needs.
Building optimization and simulation models to recommend changes that enhance supply chain performance.
Utilizing both third-party software and custom models for prescriptive analytics.
Proposing solutions, summarizing operational and financial impacts, and weighing pros and cons of alternatives.
Collaborating with Data Engineers to create robust data models for thorough analysis.
Qualifications:
2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field is preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
A Master's degree or MBA with a focus on Data Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or Statistics is preferred.
Experience applying Data Science and Operations Research techniques to supply chain management is preferred.
Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) and experience with databases is preferred.
Familiarity with data analysis tools like R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, and SAS preferred.
Experience using Strategic Network Design, Simulation (e.g., AnyLogic), or Mathematical Programming (e.g., CPLEX) software preferred.
A track record of effective teamwork as an analytical resource.
Strong communication skills to translate complex quantitative analysis into understandable business terms.
A genuine passion for driving change and a desire to assist others.
Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time.

Salary Range:
