Could This Be For You? In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide administrative support to patients, fellow employees and referral sources through the coordination and administration of the front office activities. The ideal candidate will have a background in an administrative or receptionist/ front desk role with strong computer proficiency, and communication skills.

Your Impact

Welcome people as they enter the clinic at the receptionist/ front desk

Communicate anticipated wait times and/or delays.

Check-in our patients (including verification of demographic and insurance information) at the front desk

Complete patient registration from walk-in patients at the receptionist desk

Collect all patient out of pocket responsibilities (i.e., deductibles, copays, co-insurance, etc.)

Schedule next appointment for patients at check out, i.e., cast and measure, delivery, follow up, or prosthetic care plan appointments.

Answer incoming calls

Act as a concierge of Hanger clinic services (including assistance in patient experience programs, support groups, and other resources)

Assist RCM team as needed in obtaining missing/ additional information from patients

Maintain accurate and complete electronic healthcare records on our patients.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Be at minimum a good fit for the job, as determined by the Talent Sorter assessment preferred. Hanger will administer the Talent Sorter as part of the selection process

Less than one year of customer service, administrative or related experience required.

Prefer someone with receptionist or front desk experience

Additional Success Factors

Strong interpersonal, oral (including telephone) and written communication skills.

Ability to key 30 words per minute with accuracy required.

Ability to work with handicapped individuals.

Understanding of Alpha filing system.

Understanding of medical reimbursement and terminology and an understanding of front office (receptionist) duties preferred.

Ability to use a computer, including Windows-based software and e-mail.

Ability to use all necessary office equipment, facsimile machines, calculator, postage machine, copier, etc.

(Washington D.C. Only) Pay range of $20.00- $22.00/hour + bonus + benefits. This pay range is posted to comply with State Law. Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location and other variables.
