As a Data Engineer, you will build and architect scalable systems that have a profound impact on millions of customers and generate billions in revenue. In this role, you will: Design, build, and maintain highly scalable and fault-tolerant data processing systems utilizing modern AWS services such as Redshift, S3, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, and Lambda, along with orchestration systems like Airflow. Utilize your programming skills in Python, Scala, or other modern languages to create custom data processing frameworks and automation tools. Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. Continuously optimize data pipeline performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency by implementing best practices in CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code. Mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise in data engineering best practices. Stay informed about the latest big data technologies and architectural patterns, advocating for innovative solutions. About the team: The Pricing and Promotions Science Data and Insights Organization is dedicated to enhancing Customer, Seller, and overall Amazon success through the development of automated intelligent pricing and promotions systems. We prioritize trustworthy data-driven decision-making at scale while considering both long-term and short-term impacts across various customer journey touchpoints. Qualifications: 1+ years of data engineering experience. Experience in data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines. Proficiency in one or more query languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala). Familiarity with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, KornShell). Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and EMR. Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, or Datastage. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,200 to $185,000 annually, depending on market fluctuations and individual qualifications.
