Amazon's Compensation team is on the lookout for an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) who is dedicated to utilizing data to influence essential business strategies for executive leadership. As a BIE, you will provide insightful analytics and tackle innovative questions, ensuring our leaders have access to timely, precise, and actionable data.
Your role will involve collaboration with senior leaders across Amazon to derive insights, create scalable metrics, and monitor tangible outcomes. With your enthusiasm for data, you will help develop key analytical frameworks that our internal customers and business partners can leverage.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth, timely data analyses to identify trends affecting compensation metrics.
Utilize database technologies to design, develop, and assess innovative business intelligence tools and reporting methods.
Extract compensation-specific data and create data pipelines for comprehensive reports and dashboards.
Establish scalable and automated processes for extensive data analyses, model development, validation, and implementation.
Lead projects from inception to completion, covering project management, data handling, modeling, and dissemination of insights and recommendations.
Develop business intelligence (BI) solutions, including data sets, queries, reports, dashboards, and analyses, to answer critical business questions.
Diagnose data, analyses, and code issues, research root causes, introduce solutions, and take ownership to ensure resolution.
About the Team:
The PACE team is responsible for reporting on Amazonians to the Senior Team leadership, Amazon Board, and public stakeholders. We provide accurate reporting and respond to inquiries from senior management, requiring meticulous data accuracy across various mechanisms. Our goal is to develop a robust data infrastructure that enhances visibility into workforce diversity and retention risks throughout the employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities (continued):
Collaborate with IXT leaders on comprehensive reporting and analysis.
Drive the integration of new self-identification data into IXT reporting.
Create and deliver external diversity reports for Amazon.
Qualifications:
10+ years of professional or military experience
5+ years of SQL expertise
Experience in programming for extraction, transformation, and cleaning of large data sets
Knowledge of experimental design and statistical analysis
Familiarity with AWS technologies
Proficient in scripting for automation (e.g., Python) and advanced SQL capabilities
Understanding of data science, machine learning, and data mining
Proficient in managing, analyzing, and presenting results to senior executives
Ability to translate business needs into data-driven solutions
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Quicksight

Our compensation is reflective of labor costs in various U.S. markets, ranging from $117,300 to $202,800 depending on experience and location. Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package. This position will remain posted until filled.
