Operational Security Data Scientist

GovCIO is excited to welcome a talented Data Scientist to our team, focused on enhancing operational security (OpSec) and proactively mitigating threats. This position will be located on-site at Lackland AFB, TX. About the Role: As an Operational Security Data Scientist, you will: Develop, inspect, mine, transform, and analyze data to create impactful descriptive and predictive models. Apply data mining, machine learning, and statistical analysis to produce various models, including segmentation, clustering, forecasting, and classification. Utilize data visualization tools to interpret findings and present them in a compelling and usable format. Maintain and integrate analytical systems with operational systems, ensuring data accuracy. Collaborate with both business and data SMEs to generate new business insights through data extraction and transformation. Use data to enhance threat detection, vulnerability assessment, and prevention strategies. Analyze large datasets to identify patterns and insights that form the basis of cybersecurity strategies. Work closely with cybersecurity teams to integrate data science models into our security framework. Develop algorithms and models using machine learning for anomaly detection to identify potential cyber threats. Qualifications: High School diploma with at least 9 years of relevant experience or a comparable background. Active TS/SCI clearance. A minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, encompassing data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL. Familiarity with security tools like SIEM systems and intrusion detection systems. Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Desired Qualifications: Completion of National Geospatial Agency Commercial Telemetry Data (CTD) training course or a similar qualification. Why Join GovCIO?
