Join Amazon's AWS Utility Computing (UC) team as a Software Development Engineer II focused on EC2 Nitro Systems. In this role, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team dedicated to the development and management of cutting-edge compute, database, and storage solutions. The EC2 Nitro system is at the forefront of virtualization technology, designed from the ground up to meet the needs of our diverse clientele, including startups and Fortune 500 companies. As a kernel software engineer, you will: Drive the development of new EC2 compute platforms. Work alongside interdisciplinary teams focusing on hardware, firmware, and application software. Analyze system performance metrics and implement new features for the OS. Troubleshoot and debug complex systems issues that impact performance. Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize code for the Nitro components. Contribute to the Linux kernel community through active engagement and upgrades. Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of professional software development experience. 2+ years of design or architectural experience with systems. Proficient in C, C++, or Rust within a Linux environment. Experience with Linux package management and version control systems. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years encompassing the full software development lifecycle. Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. You will be based at our facilities, with responsibilities including effective communication with coworkers and maintaining a standard of excellence in a collaborative environment. The compensation for this role ranges from $129,300 to $223,600 annually, depending on experience and market location.
