As a Patient Support Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
Handling inbound and outbound calls, effectively assessing needs and providing one-call resolutions.
Reporting adverse events within required timeframes.
Creating and maintaining accurate referrals and applications, while staying informed on policy and procedural updates.
Investigating and addressing patient and physician inquiries and concerns promptly.
Entering detailed information into company proprietary software during calls.
Following up with patients through outbound calls.
Providing superior customer support and empathy throughout the patient experience.
Managing patient accounts from initial contact to final approval or denial.
Handling multiple tasks concurrently while demonstrating a sense of urgency.
Qualifications include:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
1-3 years in a related field preferred.
Previous customer service experience is an asset.
Familiarity with call center or customer service practices.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial payer policies and guidelines.
Clear understanding of medical and pharmacy insurance benefits.
Strong communication, mediation, and problem-solving skills.
Robust computer literacy with data entry and MS Office programs.
Your role is vital in connecting with patients, caregivers, and providers to ensure they receive the necessary support. We ask that you have a reliable, high-speed internet connection as this is a full-time remote position. Our training will occur from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST, and flexibility for other shifts between 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM CST is required.
