Join the Amazon Key team, where we're innovating secure and scalable access and delivery solutions for homes, businesses, and multifamily properties. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to spearhead the design and scalability of our next-generation data infrastructure that powers our smart access and delivery products. In this role, you will focus on: Architecting and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and infrastructure that support analytics, reporting, and business operations. Designing and enforcing data modeling standards, data lineage, and governance frameworks that ensure consistency, reusability, and quality across systems. Conducting design and code reviews to promote engineering best practices in data development, documentation, testing, and monitoring. Building platforms and frameworks for both batch and real-time processing, enabling efficient analytics at scale. Implementing secure and compliant data solutions that align with internal and external regulatory requirements. Evaluating and introducing emerging technologies to enhance data platform performance, cost efficiency, and scalability. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and define solution architectures aligned with business needs. Mentoring junior engineers, contributing to team hiring and onboarding, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 7+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering or business intelligence. Advanced proficiency in SQL, ETL management, data modeling, and building ETL pipelines. Experience with at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS. Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail. Experience mentoring team members on best practices. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree (Master's) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a quantitative field. Experience in leading and architecting data solutions using AWS data services such as Redshift, S3, Glue, and Kinesis. Proven track record of addressing complex data challenges and delivering impactful solutions. Hands-on experience with large language models and understanding data infrastructure requirements for AI model training. Amazon is an equal opportunity employer. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,100/year to $240,500/year, depending on geographical location and job-related knowledge and experience. This position will remain open until filled.
