Job Summary

Must be a current, enrolled undergraduate student at the University of Utah. \Must be available to work 19 hours a week. This includes academic breaks (summer, fall, spring, etc.), as well as occasional evening and weekend work

The successful candidate will enjoy working with people. Past experience doing community-building work and planning and facilitating community events with teams, groups, or organizations is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions (Office Admin/Clerical)

Assist with general office duties, such as answering phones, greeting guests, maintaining the library, space cleaning and upkeep, assisting students, etc.

Represent the Center for Community & Cultural Engagement at events, tabling functions, and presentations for campus & community partners.

Distribute brochures, flyers, posters, and other advertisement materials related to the Center for Community & Cultural Engagement events & programming.

Direct inquiries to the appropriate departments and provide accurate information about office services.

Assist with filing, organizing documents, and ensuring compliance with university record-keeping policies.

Update databases, spreadsheets, and office reports as needed.

Essential Functions (Program Development & Coordination)

Develop, implement, and evaluate programs and events that align with the center’s mission and student needs.

Assist in planning and creating programs centered around cultural education and community engagement.

Collaborate with student leaders, staff, and faculty to ensure program success.

Maintain an events calendar and manage logistical details for student-led programs.

Facilitate involvement in student-led cultural organizations and initiatives.

Promote student leadership opportunities within the center.

Track program participation, impact, and feedback for reporting and improvement.

Manage budgets related to student programs and provide purchasing support.

Ensure proper documentation and compliance with university policies.

Provide workshops and training for students involved in cultural programming.

Stay informed about best practices in student engagement and cultural competency.

Minimum Qualifications

Have completed at least one year at the University of Utah by the time position begins

Must be in good standing with the University of Utah, both academically and in conduct

Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA

Shows commitment to campus and community through involvement
