The Edge & Network Services (ENS) team at Meta is on the lookout for dedicated professionals eager to face exciting challenges while contributing to our mission of connecting the world. As a crucial part of the Meta network team, our ENS group handles the deployment and support of all production networks, including Edge, Backbone, Optical, and Datacenter, as well as our global content delivery network (CDN). This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge network technologies and work alongside talented engineers to solve some of the industry's most complex problems. Responsibilities of the Network Engineer, Deployment and Operations: Oversee the deployment, configuration, and management of the complete network infrastructure on our datacenter campus. Collaborate with partner teams and vendors to ensure reliable day-to-day operations of the regional network. Plan and execute maintenance activities including upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning of production networks. Create deployment packages and maintain accurate as-built documentation along with an asset database for installed network equipment. Establish and implement global best practices while contributing to the design of scalable network solutions. Support development, testing, and integration of new hardware and software platforms into the network. Participate in an on-call rotation, providing 24/7 support for regional network infrastructure. Be prepared for up to 10% travel, potentially increasing to 30% depending on project needs. Minimum Qualifications: 4+ years of experience in designing, deploying, and operating large-scale networks. Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols such as BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP-TE, and VRRP. Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS) with experience in IPv4 and IPv6. Ability to work within a multi-vendor environment, with hands-on experience in networking hardware. Knowledgeable in physical infrastructure design, including structured and fiber-optic cabling. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting critical deadlines. Experience collaborating within a global team and effectively solving problems with minimal supervision. Candidates should either possess or be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience (degree required prior to joining Meta). Preferred Qualifications: Experience in technical leadership and people management. Familiarity with data center power and cooling infrastructure alongside best operational practices. Experience with on-field work in Data Centers, Colocation Facilities, Internet Exchanges, or Central Offices. Basic knowledge of Linux systems with skills in scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Perl). Understanding of 40/100G Ethernet and optical transport technologies such as CWDM and DWDM. For those considering this position, the expected compensation ranges from 50.48 USD/hour to 156,000 USD/year, inclusive of bonuses, equity, and benefits, based on experience and qualifications.
