As a Network Development Engineer with AWS, you will be an essential part of a diverse group of network engineers, supply chain specialists, security professionals, and operations managers. You will work together to maintain the highest safety and security standards while providing exceptional capabilities to our customers at the lowest possible cost. Your expertise will be crucial in deploying, scaling, and automating one of the world's largest and most complex networks: the AWS Direct Connect service. This service connects AWS to major customers globally, making it easier to establish dedicated network connections that enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Key Responsibilities:

Support and maintain our next-generation networks. Deliver effective, sustainable, and repeatable solutions. Collaborate with Network Engineering & Deployment teams for new deployments. Establish and abide by network standards and policies. Manage and mitigate impacts during large-scale events utilizing established protocols. Conduct in-depth analysis of large-scale events and create high-quality documentation. Improve detection mechanisms by implementing new alerts. Generate and review documentation for recurring issues and standard operating procedures. Troubleshoot interconnectivity issues and network device configurations. Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks through scripts and tools. A Day in the Life: Your work will involve developing next-generation platforms along with the necessary tooling ecosystems that drive efficiency and scalability through automated processes. 4+ years of hands-on experience in a network-focused technical role, particularly with IP routing protocols in large-scale environments. 4+ years of experience developing engineering or operational mechanisms for networking systems. 4+ years in a technical on-call role dealing with customer-impacting events and root cause analysis. 1+ years of automation experience via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming. Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, and network security technologies. Familiarity with various routers and firewall vendor platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Citrix, F5, and others.
