We are currently seeking a Software Development Engineer II to help build the GenAI experience and technology for Amazonians to access top-tier HR support effortlessly. In this role, you will innovate in AI-powered employee experience, enabling employees to manage both professional and personal life events while driving their day-to-day tasks without interruption. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement scalable engineering solutions Deliver comprehensive features throughout the software lifecycle, from customer feedback through design, testing, deployment, operations, and documentation Write high-quality, maintainable code Coach and mentor fellow SDE1s and SDE2s on coding best practices and code quality Diagnose and resolve software bugs with permanent fixes Engage in projects where the business challenges and technology strategies are clear, while exploring innovative implementations Document code and design choices clearly to enhance maintainability Consult with managers and senior engineers when navigating trade-offs Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship) 2+ years of experience in software design or architecture, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling Proficient in at least one programming language Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, including code standards, reviews, source control, building processes, testing, and operations Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we encourage applications from all backgrounds. This position is to be filled with a base pay ranging from $129,300/year in the lowest geographic market to $223,600/year in the highest. Compensation is influenced by market location, and other components such as equity, sign-on payments, and benefits are also part of our total compensation package.
