Overview:

GovCIO is seeking an AWS Solutions Architect with DevSecOps experience to lead the development and architecture of a government application transitioning to the AWS cloud. This role is a temporary position expected to run from 8/1/2025 to 3/20/2026 and is classified as a fully remote position. Located in Alexandria, Virginia. Responsibilities: Build and code applications and modules using programming languages such as Java, Angular, and AWS. Provide patches and upgrades to existing systems while ensuring compliance with software standards. Participate in system planning and development deployment. Design user interfaces tailored to user needs. Prepare operating instructions and compile documentation for program development. Analyze system capabilities and resolve queries related to program intent and output requirements. Engage in code reviews to ensure adherence to standards. Educate teams on implementing new cloud-based initiatives. Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including requirements, testing, and quality assurance. Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and document and implement preventive measures. Create blueprints for hybrid cloud infrastructures including networking, storage, and security. Run workshops and advise clients on cloud architecture and strategic IT decisions. Develop technical content such as white papers. Implement modifications and updates post-release. Qualifications: Bachelor's with 12+ years of experience or equivalent experience. 8+ years in solutions design and engineering, with proficiency in cloud platforms, particularly AWS. Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools and Agile delivery methodology. Solid experience automating CI/CD pipelines and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Expertise in Terraform and automation languages like Ansible or Puppet. Strong understanding of microservices, containers, IaaS, storage, and security technologies. Manual and automated testing experience, with strong coding skills and a deep understanding of AWS tools. Ability to complete projects from conception to implementation, with experience in multi-tier architectures. AWS Associate/Professional certification preferred. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to project challenges. Clearance Required:
