Associate Director of Campus Engagement and Student Life
The Associate Director of Campus Engagement and Student Life provides strategic vision, administrative leadership, and operational oversight for developing and implementing curricular and co-curricular programs that foster student engagement and a vibrant campus culture. Oversees student life initiatives, including leadership development, student organizations, and co-curricular learning experiences. Plans and coordinates major campus events such as Falcon Fest, Harvest Fest, Homecoming, Welcome Week, and Career Week. Manages both virtual and in-person engagement strategies on a Regional Campus. Provides guidance and mentorship to student leaders. Leads campus engagement staff and volunteers to ensure impactful programs that strengthen student support, cultivate community, and build a welcoming culture for students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Essential Functions Develop and implement programs (curricular and co-curricular) and initiatives that enhance campus culture, student engagement (orientation, transition, graduation), alumni participation, and faculty/staff participation Oversee student life initiatives, including leadership development, student organizations, and co-curricular experiences. Plan, coordinate, and execute BGSU Firelands signature events. Falcon Fest, Founders Day, Harvest Fest, Homecoming, Student Recognition, Welcome Week, Pop-Up Shops, Career Week. Lead and coordinate engagement strategies-both virtual and in-person-that connect traditional and non-traditional, full- and part-time students to a range of developmental opportunities across wellness, leadership, career readiness, community-building, and lifelong learning (e.g., Elder College). Advise and mentor student leaders and coordinate leadership development programs. Supervise campus engagement staff and volunteers to ensure program quality, campus culture-building, and alignment with institutional goals Minimum Qualifications The following Degree is required: Bachelor's degree required. Degree must be conferred at time of application. The following Degree is preferred: Master's Degree Preferred The following Experience is required: 3 years of experience in student programming/student engagement/student coaching and/or student online engagement 2 years cumulative work performed while college student 1 year experience in event planning 1 year experience in supervision Additional Information Knowledge, Skills and Abiltiies: Experience in a college environment and on a commuter campus is preferable. Familiarity with student engagement strategies specifically tailored to a commuter campus. Must be a proactive self-starter capable of developing and establishing a new office or program from its foundation. Excellent oral and written communication skills
