Position Summary
Salary Range: $72,000 - $87,100
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall store operations, including expenses, merchandising standards, operational standards, compliance, safety, security, and workforce management. The GM collaborates closely with cross-functional partners in Human Resources, Asset Protection, and Operations at the district, region, and store support levels to execute the business strategy within their store. Success requires building and supporting a store culture aligned with the PGA TOUR Superstore mission and behaviors, where employees are engaged and inspired. The GM also maintains a strategic view of talent needs, drives sales and service strategies, champions customer service, and acts as the brand ambassador for the community.
Key Responsibilities :
Customer Experience
- Lead a confident and knowledgeable team that delivers a differentiated experience, prioritizing customers over tasks and creating a welcoming environment.
- Listen and respond to internal and external customers, building strong relationships within the store, organization, and community.
- Drive impactful changes based on customer feedback, coaching and recognizing teams accordingly.
- Ensure store pages are accurate to prevent negative customer experiences.
- Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and upkeep of the store and equipment to enhance the customer experience.
Operational Excellence
- Create and oversee the daily execution of strategic plans to drive sales and profitability through report analysis and appropriate actions.
- Make informed business decisions based on market competition, customer insights, and company reports.
- Maintain compliance with all company directives, deadlines, standards, and policies, including safety and security policies.
- Lead a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, holding the team accountable.
- Ensure proper scheduling to support peak traffic, holidays, and weekends.
Associate Engagement
- Create a fun, inclusive, and people-first work environment aligned with our core values, fostering high performance and talent development.
- Develop and implement plans to improve associate engagement and retention.
- Manage individual development plans for store leaders to ensure future bench strength.
- Set performance and development goals for assistant general managers, providing coaching and feedback.
- Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through ongoing development and inclusive behaviors.
- Recruit, hire, and retain passionate team members, creating development plans and onboarding experiences.
- Oversee compensation, disciplinary, and staffing actions according to company policies.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Communication: Strong listening, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to communicate cross-functionally.
- Analytical: Strategic thinking with the ability to forecast needs and develop solutions to complex problems.
- Computer: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.
- Accountability: Conflict management, resolution, and accountability skills.
- Business Acumen: Full accountability for P&L management with strong business understanding.
- Organization: Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Leadership: Lead by example, enforce high customer service standards.
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.; college degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum three years in sales, management, or people development; college degree preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Stand for extended periods, climb ladders, move throughout the store, lift up to 30 lbs.
- Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
