The Vice President of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations at Adcendo, developing financial strategies, and ensuring the company's financial health. This executive will lead the finance team, collaborate with other senior leaders, and provide strategic guidance to the executive & operational team, and on occasions to the board of directors.

Adcendo ApS is a clinical-stage biotechnology company headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, with operations in Boston, Massachusetts. The company is developing a pipeline of first-in-class antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) targeting cancers with high unmet medical needs. Led by a team of industry veterans with a track record of advancing multiple ADCs to approval, Adcendo integrates novel targets, optimized linker-payload combinations, and a rationally designed development strategy to drive next-generation cancer therapies. Job Responsibilities

Operational Finance Management

  • Lead and manage all core financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, GAAP, and industry standards.
  • Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of financial systems (e.g., ERP, FP&A tools) to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of accurate, timely, and effective financial systems and reporting infrastructure.

Capital Markets Readiness

  • Prepare the company for the public markets, including audit readiness, financial controls, and investor materials.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, investment banks, and financial institutions.
  • Support the drafting of regulatory filings, and assist in responses to regulatory and investor inquiries.
  • Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Support the CFO in formulating and implementing financial strategies aligned with the company's goals, ensuring long-term financial sustainability and growth.
  • Collaborate with other executives to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare and assist in communicating financial performance and insights to stakeholders, including the board of directors.
  • Monitor industry trends and economic factors to inform financial planning and strategy.
  • Contribute to managing cash flow, investment strategies, and capital structure decisions under the CFO's direction.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Build scalable team capabilities to support company growth, IPO-readiness, and post-IPO public company compliance.
  • Qualifications

    Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in the biotechnology or life sciences industry.
  • Strong preference for candidates with direct experience preparing for and / or executing an IPO.
  • Proven track record in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), treasury, and risk management.
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth, pre-commercial or clinical-stage environment.
  • Familiarity with oncology, drug development lifecycles, and biotech funding models (e.g., venture capital, licensing).
  • Technical Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and public company financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical tools.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance standards, and internal controls.

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively with executive teams, investors, and board members.
  • High level of integrity, sound judgment, strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
