Jupiter Medical Center is the only hospital in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties to receive a 4-star quality and safety rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).Education:Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, BSN preferred.Experience / QualificationsCurrent RN licensure in the state of FloridaMust have two (2) current years of Pediatric experience.BLS Certification from American Heart Association, for healthcare providersPALS Certification from American Heart AssociationNRP Certification from American Heart Association within 90 days of hire dateNational Certification in Specialty preferredPosition SummaryThe RN applies nursing process and theories, as well as principles of psycho-social and physical sciences, in assessing, planning, diagnosing, implementing, evaluating, and modifying patient care utilizing evidence-based practices. The RN practice autonomously within professional nursing standards, the ANA Code of Ethics and the ANA Bill of Rights. The RN strives for quality outcomes and innovative practice in accordance with the Florida Nursing Practice Act and the Hospital/departmental policies.The RN ensures practice is in accordance with competency required for that area.This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self (or others who are under RN's direction). This is done through participation in quality assurance or performance improvement initiatives.The RN provides care in a collaborative manner with other disciplines to ensure optimal, individualized patient care and outcomes.In managing patient care the RN will take a leadership role coordinating the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with other health team members to enhance patient outcomes.The RN has a responsibility to act as educator to their peers, patients, and their families.All aspects of the RN performance support service excellence and a healing environment.The RN identifies and communicates needed unit resources or equipment to be included in budget.Performs other duties as assigned.Team Member CompetenciesEstablishing RelationshipsBuilds effective networks, working relationships, and alliances in order to collaborate effectively within department and organization. The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs. Threshold Requirements:These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basisAnnual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientationTB/PPD Surveillance Program Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
