Reporting to the Director of Software Development, the Senior Cloud Developer will have deep expertise in developing applications for AWS and healthcare data systems to develop secure, scalable, and compliant cloud-native applications as well as supporting, and eventually converting, existing systems currently on-premises. This role combines knowledge of AWS practices and procedures with expert programming skills. Key responsibilities include: Designing end-to-end solutions using AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, ECS/EKS, CloudFront, and more. Assisting in migration and refactoring of legacy or on-premises applications to leverage AWS-native features like microservices and serverless architectures. Optimizing application and infrastructure performance with AWS CloudWatch, Auto Scaling Groups, and Elastic Load Balancers. Implementing CI/CD pipelines with AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like AWS CloudFormation and Terraform. Prototyping and validating new AWS services and approaches to address business and technical challenges. Qualifications include: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. At least 5 years of experience in software development, cloud architecture, or systems engineering, with hands-on AWS experience. Deep expertise with AWS core services: EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and more. Strong programming skills in Python, .NET, Node.js, especially in AWS Lambda or containerized workloads. Experience with containerization and orchestration: ECS, EKS, Docker. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code: AWS CloudFormation, Terraform. Understanding of AWS networking: VPC, Subnets, Route Tables, Security Groups, Direct Connect, VPNs. Knowledge of AWS serverless architectures: Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, SQS, SNS. Monitoring and logging expertise: CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, CloudTrail, ELK stack.
